Rio on the Water at Lake Lanier Olympic Park on Friday evening, August 5, 2016, will take a nostalgic look back to when the 1996 Olympic games were celebrated at what is now Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

To celebrate this 20th Anniversary, guests will be greeted with a Brazilian Carnival of Entertainment!

This special event will sway to the sounds of drummers and the Samba by Dance Brasil, with food, drink, music, and dancing to make the night unforgettable.

A Parade of Honor will showcase the dynamic volunteers who helped bring the Olympic Games to our community in 1996 with special guest of honor Governor Nathan Deal.  Delicious foods with a Brazilian flair by Chef Kern Chiasson will be served along with wine bars and craft beer by local vendor Tap It.

The Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Olympic Games will be streamed live via NBC from Rio De Janeiro.

Highlighting the event will be the Atlanta Show Stoppers, a 12-piece band considered one of the best in the South.  Spotlighted under a large tent, guests will enjoy a high energy performance and a three-hour, non-stop display of incredible talent.
