Mule Camp Market takes over the square in Gainesville this weekend, October 10-13, 2014, with expanded hours, more vendors, fun folks and crafts galore!

When you hear about Mule Camp, you probably remember Ronald Reagan pitching “20-Mule Team Borax” on Death Valley Days, right?  Okay, maybe not.  But you must remember that Gainesville used to be known as “Mule Camp Springs.”

For the better part of 40 years Gainesville has celebrated our Appalachian heritage by showcasing local artisans, musicians, crafty folks and cloggers each autumn on the square.

Remember the Corn Tassel Festival?  Now, it’s the Mule Camp Market Festival — or “Mule Camp.”

Whatever you call it, it’s back!

This year’s Mule Camp begins on Friday, October 10th at 10 AM, thanks to the year-long efforts of the Gainesville Jaycees.  More than 15,000 people are expected to enjoy a day or two on our town square before things wrap up Sunday afternoon about 7 PM.

Fabulous food, great people watching, amazing music and old-tyme fun awaits!

You don’t have to miss church on Sunday, if you’re visiting from out of town.  This year Mule Camp will have its own church service at 10:30 AM.
