An Argentine mural artist known as “Jaz” has jazzed up the timing tower at the Olympic Rowing Venue at Clarks Bridge Park at the northern end of Lake Lanier.
Franco Fasoli — which, if you say it with a Spanish accent, is every bit as cool as “Jaz” — did a fabulous job painting a rower and a paddler on the timing tower.
I could not take enough pictures of it. Every angle, every muscle, every perspective is glorious. By any other name, this artist is a master.
Please Note: Despite the obvious similarities, this author was not the model for Jaz’s mural. Thank you.

LIVING WALLS MURAL
The combined efforts of the Arts Council, North Georgia Community Foundation, Quinlan Art Center and Georgia Council for the Arts made this possible through The Traveling Show.

The “Living Walls” mural on the timing tower is the first Public Art Project in Hall County. This, according to The Traveling Show’s website, will “launch our community into the public art sphere as part of the Vision 2030 process.”
You’re invited to attend a semi-fancy shindig at the Rowing Venue, Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 7:30 – 9 PM.
You can feast on delicious food from Johnny’s BBQ, listen to live music on the shores of Lake Lanier, and dance, if you dare.
Bring a nice friend, a picnic, a chair and a good attitude and come view the marvelous mural.
We want to thank everyone involved for giving this gift to our community. It’s a treasure and we appreciate it!
