Saturday, July 20, 2013, has been designated by our fun-loving governor Nathan Deal as Pirates Day on Lake Lanier in honor of our favorite scalawags — the hosts and sponsors of the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run.
Our pirates are proper Southern gentlemen and ladies worthy of the snootiest cotillion. Well, most of the time. This weekend? Maybe not. But the fun is all for charity! Honest! Click Here for This Year’s Charities.
Mostly honest folks and landlubbers probably couldn’t define a “poker run” if you threatened to keelhaul them. It isn’t really about playing poker.
The big Poker Run on Lake Lanier on Saturday — with all the super-studly boats that are only good for going insanely fast, making hotties in bikinis seasick and blowing everybody’s expensive sunglasses into Davey Jones dang Locker at 80 MPH — isn’t really a race.

- Thursday July 18th from 5:00 – 10:00 PM: Meet and Greet at Gianni’s, Lake Lanier Islands Resort
- Friday July 19th, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM: “Cheeseburger in Paradise” Raft Up on the Lake, Donated by Norman’s Landing
- Friday July 19th, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Mandatory “Captains’ Meeting” and “Welcome Party” at the Grand Hall, Lake Lanier Islands Resort
- Friday July 19th & Saturday July 20th from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM: Lanier Partners “Vendor Village” at Lake Lanier Islands Resort
- Saturday July 20th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM: The Poker Run on the Lake
- Saturday July 20th, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM: The After Event Party and Awards Ceremony, Sunset Cove, Lake Lanier Islands Resort
