Bolling Bridge on Route 53 to be Resurfaced

Teri Pope, our friend at the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT), informed lakelanier.com that about $43 million will be spent statewide to improve the safety and functionality of bridges, among other priorities.

Five new or rebuilt bridges are among 14 Georgia DOT construction efforts commencing including one bridge at the Oconee and Walton County Line, and three resurfacing projects in Northeast Georgia.

The 1.45 mile long section of State Route 53 near Little Hall Park from Bolling Bridge over Lake Lanier to west of Manor Ridge Road will be completed by October 31, 2013.   Allied Paving Contractors of Pendergrass will do the work for $413,048.65.

The roughly three-quarter mile section of State Route 369 from SR 11 to I-985 will be resurfaced by October 31, 2013.  The contract cost of $391,391.18 goes to Allied Paving Contractors of Pendergrass.

The US 78/State Route 10 Bridge over the Apalachee River at the Oconee-Walton county line will be replaced by C.W. Matthews Contracting Inc. of Marietta. The $2,683.368.97 contract requires the work to be finished by May 31, 2014.

State Route 53 from the Jackson Barrow county line to SR 11 in Barrow County will be resurfaced by E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. of Snellville. The 3.365 miles will be completed by October 31, 2013 at a contract price of $781,353.33
