We might not be able to afford a 100-foot houseboat, but we can rent a boat for a day every summer for fishing, puttering or living large for a few hours.

Golf at Lake Lanier Islands isn’t cheap.  A nice mani/pedi isn’t either.  Gifts cards for one or the other would make a nice wedding anniversary present for your spouse or for friends and family.

Dozens of parks have spots for walking and several have actual trails you can enjoy on a bike or on foot.  Get to know all the parks and all the lakeside views before you settle down with just one.

Sounds funny but it’s true.  There are sailing clubs on Lake Lanier that don’t require you to own a boat.  If you love sailing and you’re willing to hoist a jib on somebody else’s yawl, volunteer to crew for someone who doesn’t sailing alone.  We (almost) guarantee that you won’t be clapped in irons if you don’t know how to weigh an anchor.

Have you ever caught a giant striped bass?  Your arms will ache with delight as you reel in your catch of a lifetime.  You can sit back and take it slow and easy fishing for sunfish too.  There is no wrong way to spend a day fishing.
