
The 2014 Arbor Day Celebration — sponsored by Hall County Master Gardeners, Keep Hall Beautiful and Georgia Power — begins at 10 AM on Friday, February 21st at Don Carter State Park.
The event is free and you’re invited to the festivities.
You might even get a chance to meet famous artists, such as McEver Arts Academy 3rd Grader Juliet Edge, who won First Place for her colorful and imaginative poster on the topic of “I Speak for the Trees.” Juliet earned the award from the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and the Georgia Forestry Service in the 2014 Arbor Day Student Art and Essay Contest.
Honorable Mention awards went to Allison Pineda of Enota “MI Academy” and Yvette Gonzalez from New Holland Knowledge Academy.
In the 5th Grade Essay Contest, First Place went to Ally Cook of Enota Elementary. Honorable Mentions were given to Isaiah Willock and Ashely Andrade-Sosa, also of Enota Elementary.
