Walk in the Woods with an Owl

Walk in the woods with an owl ... because life isn't scary enough.
Walk in the woods with an owl … because life isn’t scary enough.

Bored with your boring life?  Does it make you crazy to read about all the fabulous vacations your less deserving friends post pictures of on Facebook?

Did you force yourself to freeze your platinum card in a bowl of ice so you won’t freak out and go on a long exotic vacation — between the time you drop the kids off at school, have lunch with the girls and get back in time for driving your lame car to soccer/football/dance practice for ungrateful kids who would trade you for a colorful iPhone with a broken screen?

Good news, Bunkie!

The Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center has the perfect getaway: The “Autumn Owl Prowl.”  Ooooh.  Sounds just wild enough, huh?

Real, live adults are going to “venture out on a guided night hike and listen for the night time sounds along the Chattahoochee River.”  (Don’t worry, these “night time sounds” don’t include your daughter sneaking out of her room at 1 AM to meet some guy named “Anger” or your son watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show again … reciting all the dialogue … at 3 AM.)

The Autumn Owl Prowl will be so much fun that you’ll even want to drag your once-perfect kids out with you … in the hope that moonlight might make them revert to the charming, fun, respectful darlings they once were, if only in your fading memory.

The evening begins with stories, songs and sounds of the park.  Then, meet the evening’s special guest: an owl from the Chattahoochee Nature Center.

If you survive all the excitement and you actually find your kids again, you can all warm up around a campfire that you don’t have to worry about extinguishing.

Your kids will think you’re so cool that they’ll actually introduce you to their friends.

“Hey, everybody! I want you to meet my mom! She’s awesome!  We call her “Walks with Owls!”
