Help Sought in Hannah Truelove’s Murder Case

Hannah TrueloveSgt. Stephen Wilbanks, public information officer for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, is seeking help from the media and the public in their effort to solve the year-old murder case of Gainesville High School student, Hannah Truelove.

Hannah was found murdered on August 24, 2012, behind Lake Lanier Club Apartments, where she lived with her mother.  Her body was discovered in a heavily wooded area between the apartment complex and Lake Lanier.  Hannah was stabbed multiple times.

Investigators have interviewed a number of people in connection with the case, but are still seeking to speak with anyone that might have information beneficial to solving the case.

In addition, investigators are still specifically interested in learning about a late 1990’s to early 2000’s four-door passenger car (possibly a Chevrolet or Dodge product) that may have been in the area of the apartment complex during the evening hours of August 23, 2012.

At the time of Hannah’s murder, the car was light silver in color, with substantial front end damage and a driver’s door that was either white or a lighter shade of silver.  The vehicle may have been repaired after Hannah’s murder.

Investigators believe the occupants of the vehicle may have information that will aid in the investigation.

Anyone with information about the suspected vehicle or a vehicle that may have been similar that had body work done or changed the vehicle’s color is asked to come forward and provide that information to law enforcement officers.

This case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
