Our friends with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on Lake Lanier are optimistic. Why else would they open the beach at Burton Mill Park at 7 AM?
Burton Mill Park is on the eastern shore of Lake Lanier, not far from Flowery Branch.
Go west on Gaines Ferry Road, then turn onto Yacht Club Road, toward University Yacht Club. You’ll see Burton Mill on the left.
After your pleasant drive, the only difficulty you’ll face is choosing which of the picnic tables and grills that line the path along the lake that you like the most.
The boat ramp is accessible all year long, with no time restrictions for those docking or launching watercraft.
Alcohol is prohibited in all Corps of Engineers parks. Possession of alcohol by anyone in attendance can result in immediate termination of rental, eviction of entire party from park and forfeit of any monies. Sorry, pets are not allowed.
