War Hill Park
War Hill Park in Dawsonville, Georgia, consists of 14 primitive campsites, a day-use area, a bath house with restrooms and showers.
That’s less primitive than where some of our relatives live.
There are also four boat ramps.
War Hill and Toto Creek Park are labeled as “primitive.” That might be due to the fact these parks are quite close to the giant outlet mall near the intersection of GA 400 and GA 53. Compared to a mall, these sites are primitive. Compared to primitive, these sites are like a cozy mall, in my humble opinion.
War Hill Park is open daily from 7 AM until 10 PM and is maintained by the good folks at Dawson County Parks & Recreation.
Campsites don’t have electricity and you might have to take a short walk for water, but this isn’t like being in the wilderness. So, don’t worry about lions, tigers and bears. You might even get to see a bug or two!
