Shoal Creek Campground

We’re glad you found this information on Shoal Creek Campground, operated by our friends at Lanier Islands Resort.  Shoal Creek once was lost.  Now, they are found.

Shoal Creek belongs to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).  All Corps campgrounds use for reservations — except Shoal Creek.

Lake Lanier Islands Resort leases this exceptional camping area and they handle the maintenance, promotion and reservations themselves.

Shoal Creek is about seven miles from Lake Lanier Islands on Shadburn Ferry Road, just off Buford Dam Road.  Campers will love the large wooded sites with tables, fire rings and grills.  They are all suitable for RVs or tents.

There are primitive lakeside campsites, in addition to those with handy access to electricity.  The views from the walking trails are spectacular.

Primitive means there isn’t a fast-food restaurant or movie theater next to your tent.  It does not mean that you will lose sleep because of lions, tigers or bears.
