Gainesville’s 2016 Spring Chicken Festival — celebrated on the last weekend of March annually — is a shibboleth, a dividing line that separates families, neighbors and friends.

You see, there are two types of people in this world: those who are proud that Gainesville is the Poultry Capital of the Whole Dang World and lesser beings whose paltry souls cannot accept the truth.

Be one with the chickens!  Celebrate at the Spring Chicken Festival on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10 AM until 4 PM on Gainesville’s square.

Attention, Spring Chickens!  Get your cluck on at the 5k race.  Strut your stuff in the Chicken City Parade around the square.  Then, dine on delectable chicken every way you like it at the Cook-Off!

There will be plenty of live entertainment (not just from people watching), and a kids zone — so parents won’t lose their minds or their children in the crowd.

Back by popular demand is the “Re-Hatched” art/craft market with re-creations made from recycled materials.

Comb your hair and hatch a happy time with the boldest chickens ever gathered in Gainesville — where everyone is a chick magnet.
