Welcome to Lake Lanier

If you visit Lake Lanier from other parts of America, we will understand if you are awe-struck by all our amazing parks on Lanier.  Charleston Park, for example, is a typically extraordinary recreation area.

The men and women of the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department honor us all with the excellent way they care for this park.

Bring a meal with you and dine lakeside with friends or just by yourself for a change.  We all need breaks.

There are grills to use, if you’d rather cook burgers, steak or corn on the cob.  Everything tastes better when you eat outside.

If you’re feeling lucky, launch your boat on one of the three easy ramps and dine on stripers!  Even I caught a dandy specimen after putting in here.  We happily released it … for another day.

Charleston is located at 5850 Charleston Park Road, Cumming, Georgia.  It’s just off Browns Bridge Road — GA Route 369 — a few miles east of GA 400.  Restrooms are available.  Alcohol is prohibited.

Clear your head, fill your tummy, rest or fish — as long as you’re having fun.
