The water level at Lake Lanier got a boost within the last 24 hours. By 6AM this morning, the lake was up by 5.52 inches to a total of 1059.8. With the rain continuing to fall we will see Lake Lanier at 1060 and beyond! Remember summer full pool is 1071. Overnight the lake went up almost a full inch! Will this rain be enough to get North Georgia out of a 4 year drought?

State climatologists say that single rain occurrences help ground water levels but will not be enough to relieve us of drought conditions that are set to worsen this summer. Well even if climatologists tell us the rainfall is a temporary relief, it is still welcomed over Lake Lanier! I will post a new update when the next water level check is made … www.savelakelanier.com
