More bad news for the North Georgia region was released today. Climatologists said that most of Georgia has slipped back into extreme drought conditions. The area around Lake Lanier is included in the extreme drought conditions and can worsen if we do not receive adequate rainfall by April. Lake Lanier is slowly loosing water, approximately 1 inch per day. The lake currently stands at 1056.94. We need the rain very badly or Lake Lanier will again suffer huge losses over the summer months. The lake saw some rain last week during the severe weather but it was not much. Keep your fingers crossed for some heavy rain at Lake Lanier.
