The COE has been trying to lower Lake Lanier to 1070 by today for flood control purposes.  Currently, Lake Lanier is at 1071.29 which is .29 feet above summer full pool.  A flood watch has already been issued for the area around Lake Lanier ahead of a powerful storm system that is moving in tonight.  It appears that the COE has lowered the releases at Buford Dam ahead of the storm to minimize flooding downstream of Lake Lanier.  We will post more information as the storm gets closer.
