One enterprising twitter user found wanted to know about the goats living at Buford Dam and passed on this from the Corps of Engineers:

There have been goats on Buford Dam for approximately 30 years.  They do a worderful job of keeping the natural vegitation under control.  The number of goats at the site varies.  Currently, we think the four female goats are expecting.  With the addition of young goats we may have enough to do the job.  The male goats are introduced only when needed for breeding purposes.  We have multiple care takers that feed and check the water supply daily but the goats get plenty of attention from visitors.”
