There’s more talk of connecting the south end of Lake Lanier with i75. The Georgia Department of Transportation is working on plans to connect the Adairsville/Calhoun area on Interstate 75 with Cumming and Interstate 85. Expect to see plans published before the end of the year.

There are suggestions that the highway could be paid for by private companies that would get repaid by tolls.

The corridor being considered would take a somewhat straight line east from the Adairsville/Calhoun area on Interstate 75 and tie in again somewhere along Georgia 400 near Cumming. The challenge is to get it around Lake Lanier to get to Interstate 85.
