Chattahoochee Rapids Hosts Food Drive for the Atlanta Community Food Bank

DID YOU KNOW that more than 20% of children and nearly 12% of senior citizens in Georgia live in poverty (U.S. Census Bureau)? Since 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank has been dedicated to providing food and other critical resources to low-income Georgians who suffer from hunger and food insecurity. This incredible agency delivers more than 20 million pounds of food and grocery products to over 700 partner nonprofits that provide food assistance to families and individuals in 38 counties in metro Atlanta and North Georgia. This weekend, guests of Chattahoochee Rapids Beach & WaterPark who donate 2 non-perishable food items at the WaterPark entrance will receive $5 off their daily admission. Current Season Pass Holders who donate 2 non-perishable food items will receive a coupon for their choice of free tube rental (based on availability) or a free large ICEE. Thank you in advance for your part in helping Lake Lanier Islands Resort and the Atlanta Community Food Bank feed those in need!

In honor of the 33rd anniversary of Elvis’ passing, Lake Lanier Islands Resort will play host to the ABSOLUT® Elvis Tribute on Saturday, August 14 at our popular new beachside restaurant, Sunset Cove Beach Café & Club. Musicians will be on hand at this scenic venue throughout the afternoon and evening to pay homage to The King’s music, with a special appearance from The King himself from 7 to 8:30 p.m. followed by Blues legend, Beverly “Guitar” Watkins and her 5-piece band.
