Next Steps

The process from here will be for Forsyth County Schools to collect feedback on these lines between now and September 30th. Parents will be informed this week (September 12th) by their local school council on how to provide feedback. If you live in a community that you feel is negatively affected by these proposed lines, it’s important that you become part of the process and provide that feedback so it can be considered when Draft 2 is released.

Draft 2 will be released on October 17th with the feedback period running up to October 31st. Additionally there will be two public forums held at Forsyth Central High School at 7pm on October 25th (for elementary and middle school lines) and October 27th (for high school lines).

Final lines for the 2012-13 school year will be approved and released on November 17th at 6pm.

Out Of District Options

Finally, you should know that rising 5th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders who do get redistricted will have an option to remain at their current schools by completing an out of district form. Parents will have to provide their own transportation and this will not apply to siblings.
