Toto Creek Park lies (lays?) in the wilderness of Lake Lanier that lays (lies?) a few miles from the bustle of the popular outlet malls in Dawsonville.
Toto Creek has a boat ramp that will get you into Lake Lanier quickly, but not as fast as a store clerk can say, “Your card has been declined,” after a day of furious shopping.

Camping once meant hiking into the woods and fighting lions and tigers and bears for a place to survive overnight.
Everyone carried whatever they needed to endure the wilds.  If you forgot something, you made a replacement out of tree bark or possum claws; or, you <gasp> went without it.  These days, primitive camping means poor Internet service inside a $350,000 recreational behemoth.
If Daniel Boone wanted primitive camping, he’d mosey on over to Toto Creek for a spell. Be like Daniel Boone. Camp at Toto Creek Park, where you are free to sleep outdoors in a tent, tarp or hammock. Or on a pile of rocks, if you’re tough enough.
Each campsite offers an impact pad with a picnic table, fire pit and lantern hangar. A communal water hydrant is located near site #1. The restroom is located near the park entrance.
There was a time when you could just pull up and claim a campsite. Today, all campground sites are available by advance reservation only.

- Check-in is 3:00 p.m. Check out is by 1:00 p.m.

Yes, Toto Creek Park is a little bit primitive.  No electricity.  No water at the campsites.  That makes Toto Creek about as primitive as most homes were a few generations ago.  Folks back then survived just fine. So will you.
Put on a raccoon hat, slap on a pair of boots, cut some firewood, pour some water in a jug, pop your sleeping bag in your car, and rough it for a night or two at Toto Creek Park.
If crickets and tree frogs terrify you, the outlet shops are minutes away.
