The Cumming Playhouse Presents Camelot

The Cumming Playhouse Presents Camelot

The wisest of men will invite their ladies to pop on their snootiest tiaras and most luxurious outfits for an evening out — in Camelot.

The most romantic of gentlemen will memorize the words to How to Handle a Woman and gently sing it during the darkest of times to rekindle even the most feeble flames of love.

Swords, drama, extraordinary costumes and treachery will entertain less-than-gentlemen who believe the way to a woman’s heart is to ask for another cold beer while she folds clothes.

Either way, stepping into Camelot is better than watching Hogan’s Heroes reruns.  Again.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to witness this milestone musical from Thursday, July 12, 2018 until Sunday, August 5th.

Camelot

Camelot tells the story of Arthur, a young squire who becomes King after extracting the sword Excalibur from its legendary rock.  Camelot opens in the midst of the battle that destroyed King Arthur’s kingdom, and goes back to tell the story of how the battle came to be.

The musical follows Arthur from a young, ambitious, idealistic King who dreams of creating a just society to the despairing king bearing witness to his dream’s demise.  Arthur’s dream is inspired by his vivacious Queen Guenevere.

Together, they create a kingdom where might works at the service of right and the King serves at a round table with no head — a symbol of collaboration and unity.  But just as this utopian vision starts to become reality, everything begins to unravel.

You’ll have to visit the Cumming Playhouse to learn how this tale has woven its way into the hardest hearts for decades.

Please.  Please turn off your cell phones before the show begins.  It is possible that an actor, otherwise impervious to distractions, might let his sword slip and accidentally impale you after hearing your I’ve Got Friends in Low Places ringtone blast through the theater.  Maybe.

The music.  The scenery.  The passion … of Camelot.  Don’t miss this opportunity to take someone you love to the fairyland of love and …

Your memories of this exquisite musical will never leave you, unless you blow your chance to heed the call of Camelot.
