New Hotels in Atlanta & Around Georgia

You snooze, you lose.  That’s true when you play Monopoly as a board game or in real life erecting hotels.  If you waited to invest almost all your money on a bunch of new hotels in Atlanta, you’re too late.  Sorry.

The next time you fly into Atlanta, you’ll have more choices for overnight accommodations before leaving town to go elsewhere.

After all, the primary purpose of Atlanta is to land there in order to go somewhere else, such as the magnificence of North Georgia.

According to our friends with the Atlanta Convention & Visitor Bureau, new hotels in Atlanta and beyond are opening soon.  Here’s their glimpse of the hottest hotel developments.

Over the last few years, Georgia’s hotel industry has been on the rise.  With 1,845+ lodging properties comprising more than 168,000 hotel rooms, the state’s hotel industry continues to expand with numerous new developments, renovations and expansions under way across the state.  

The Inn at Barnsley Resort now offers a new way to experience this North Georgia resort, located near Adairsville, south of Calhoun.  The additional 55 guest rooms and suites bring the resort’s total guest room count to 150 accommodations.  The new Georgia Hall venue is an ideal space for events in Northwest Georgia. An InterContinental 4-star hotel is set to be built on the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport campus. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Hotel will be the first hotel within walking distance of the domestic terminal.  Visit: https://www.ihg.com/intercontinental

Located right outside Atlanta, Great Wolf Lodge is set to provide a wonderful water park experience. Hard Rock International will open a 220-room Hard Rock Hotel Atlanta on Centennial Olympic Park Drive next to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in late 2018.  The hotel will include an outdoor swimming pool, rooftop bar and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space.  Visit: www.hardrockhotels.com

The Candler Building is one of downtown Atlanta’s iconic structures.  When completed in 1906 by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Griggs Candler, it was the tallest building in the city.  In late 2018, it will be transformed into a Curio Hotel, a luxury brand from Hilton, with 265-guestrooms.  Visit: curiocollection.com

Spanning an entire block on Savannah’s historic River Street, The Alida Hotel will be a seven-story, 173-room luxury accommodation.  The hotel will have 4,000 square feet of meeting space, a signature restaurant, rooftop event space and bar, fitness area, pool and lobby bar.  A new grand entrance will provide access to River Street, giving pedestrians an easier, safer way to access the riverfront before leaving to visit North Georgia.
