Buy your Senior Pass online before August 25, 2017.

Our pal, Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Mobile District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Lisa Hunter, wants to remind you to purchase the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Lifetime Senior Pass online, if you qualify.  Get yours by Friday, August 25, 2017, before the price goes from $10 to $80!

The USACE office at Lake Lanier does not have any more passes for sale, unfortunately.  Getting your Senior Pass online is easy.

Here’s the deal:

As a result of legislation passed by Congress in December 2016, the price of the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Lifetime Senior Pass will increase from $10 to $80 beginning August 28, 2017.

The Senior Pass is available to all U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 and older.  Applicants must provide proof of age and residency or citizenship to purchase the pass.  The Senior Pass is accepted at all parks operated by the USACE.  Patrons may purchase the passes at select USACE-operated parks.

Some locations may have sold out of Senior Passes, so it’s recommended that patrons call parks before visiting to ensure availability.

You may still purchase the Senior Pass online.  In addition to the $10 fee for the pass, patrons who purchase the Senior Pass online will be charged a $10 processing fee.

Patrons may purchase the Senior Pass online here.

Previously purchased lifetime Golden Age or Senior Passes will be honored for the lifetime of the pass holder.

Please Note:  The price for the Senior Pass increases on Monday, August 28, 2017.  The final day to purchase a Senior Pass is NOT August 28th.  Since most offices are closed on weekends, the final day to purchase Senior Pass for a mere $10 is Friday, August 25th.  Honest.

The legislation also introduces a new annual Senior Pass that can be purchased for $20.  Seniors who purchase annual Senior Passes for four years can trade them in for a lifetime Senior Pass at no additional charge.

The Senior Pass covers all entrance fees and standard amenity (day use) fees and may provide senior discounts for things such as tours or campsites.  The pass also waives the entrance fee for travelling companions.  At per-vehicle fee sites, the pass admits the pass holder and all passengers in a noncommercial vehicle.  At a per-person fee site, the pass admits the pass holder and three other adults.  Children under 16 are always admitted free.
