When you think of Dahlonega, Georgia, you probably think, “How the heck do you pronounce THAT?”  Then, you think of the dozens of waterfalls in the area and how the Appalachian Trail runs near it.  Surprisingly, our pleasant little village is best known for the 2016 Gold Rush Days Festival!
Held during the third full weekend of October, Gold Rush Days is famous for bringing the best musicians, food trucks, vendors of all ilks, the fanciest arts and crafts together in one place — where everyone is called “Honey” and “Sweetheart” by friendly Southern folks.

“They say” 400,000 people went to Woodstock in 1969 and went hungry and cold in driving rain and mud. Â The 2016 Gold Rush Days Festival expects 200,000 visitors; each one will be warmly received, fed, and sent away with wonderful memories of the best mud-free festival anywhere! Â It’s one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast.
