The Back to School Beach Bash at Lanier Islands is both great news and not-so-great news.
Here’s the good news:
LanierWorld — the beach, boardwalk and water park entertainment district set on the shores of Lake Lanier — hosts The Bash on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from noon to 11 p.m. with live entertainment, a movie on the Spectacular Screen and fun in the sun on more than a dozen waterslides, rides and attractions.
Here’s the not-so-great news:
Lanier Islands is open for sunbathers, beach goers and waterslide warriors the full week of August 1-7.  After that, LanierWorld will be open weekends only through Labor Day.  The final day of the 2016 season at LanierWorld will be Sunday, September 11.
Please. Â Tell me you’re going to celebrate summer at LanierWorld before it ends!
- Big fun on Big Beach from noon – 6 pm, including Bubble and Magic Show with Aaron Clark, friendly street performers, Lanier Islands Summer Games and DJ Josh spinning kid-friendly tunes on Big Beach throughout the day
- Scavenger Hunt with prizes provided by Animal Planet
- Zootopia on the five-story, high-definition Spectacular Screen beginning at 7:30 pm
- Country music artist Justin Dukes performing live at Sunset Cove from 3 – 7 pm.
