Body of Mr. Curtis I. Lee, 52, Found in Lake Lanier

We regret to inform you of the death of Mr. Curtis I. Lee, 52, of Gwinnett County.

A spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, said deputies were first called to the area around 5910 Browns Bridge Road in Cumming, near Six Mile Creek Park and the bridge over Lake Lanier on Monday, September 28th.

At first, the issue was “a suspicious vehicle that had been parked at the park all day.”

Curtis I. Lee was found submerged in the lake by members of the Forsyth County Fire Department dive team.  They also retrieved Curtis I. Lee from the water a short time later.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was contacted and the victim was taken for an autopsy.  The investigation is pending an autopsy report but no signs of foul play were discovered.

We are thankful for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and the Forsyth County Fire Department dive team for their service.

We offer our condolences to the friends and family of Curtis I. Lee for their loss.
