Laurel Summer Fest on Lake Lanier

hawgin on lanier 2015It’s time for Laurel Summer Fest, which is billed by our pals at the Hall County Parks & Leisure Services and the Gainesville Jaycees as an end-of-summer festival.

What’s the big rush to kick summer to the curb?  It’s still August.  Autumn doesn’t officially begin until September 23rd.  The weather is perfect.  It’s summertime!

Let’s just think of Laurel Summer Fest as a warning that (somewhere up North) it’s almost time to wax skis and blow the dust off snow blowers before winter begins.

Here in Georgia, it’s perfect weather, thank you.  Just right to take the family to Lake Lanier’s Laurel Park, just north of Gainesville off of Cleveland Highway/Route 129.

Laurel Summer Fest will have enough toe-tapping live music to give you blisters.  The kids will love the inflatables and the delightful splash pad/sprinkler thingy.  Field games, arts and crafts and plenty of BBQ from Hawgin’ on Lanier will be available too, thanks to the presenting sponsor: Climate Solutions.

Hall County Animal Shelter Animals & Volunteers will be out with some pets that will be available for adoption as well.

When the sun goes down, the real fun begins — fireworks after dark at Laurel Summer Fest 2015.
