Fireworks for Labor Day

fireworks 2Plans for fireworks on the Fourth of July across Georgia were washed away by rain.  Alternate dates were also rained out.

That was bad news then, but it’s good news now!

If you do this right, you can enjoy Labor Day Weekend fireworks on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights!

Gainesville’s Laurel Park Fireworks

The American Legion’s Post 7 in Gainesville will set off a ton of fireworks on Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2013, at Laurel Park on Lake Lanier.  Sunset is 8 o’clock and the show will begin soon afterward, perfect for a school night.

Parking at Laurel Park — off Route 129, north of Gainesville — costs $5/car, but the fireworks and the fun are free.  Food, ice cream and soda pop will be for sale.

Please do not be discouraged, but plan on spending a bit of time exiting the park after the fireworks display.

Secret Message to Parents: Have the kids piddle before you go back to the car.

Very cool pictures. My camera would just have been white blots.
I LOVE fireworks. They actually snap, crackle, and pop at times. Sometimes the real “boomers” make me jump.
